About the Author
Camille Bateman Haight, was born and raised in Sandy, Utah. She was born the fourth child in a family with eight children. “I grew up in a loving home full of great people. My parents taught me great things, among them was first a love of God, second a love of family, and third a belief in honing and using one’s talents.” From a very early age her father taught her a love of literature. She was encouraged to read books on her summer vacations, and write a book report on each one. Her father pushed her to learn new vocabulary words regularly to further her foundation. Her grandmother also had that same love of classic novels and poetry she read to young children at elementary schools and loved to read to all her grandchildren. Her love and influence just added to Camille’s fondness of good story telling. Her love of a good story can be seen within each chapter of her books. “A good story should pull at you from within, and bring forth a bond between you and the Characters as if they truly are you best friend or most hated foe. A good story will make you laugh out loud, or have tears slipping down your cheeks. A story should feel real, and engage you on every level,” Says Camille. Today Camille lives in southern Utah with her husband and young children, where she continues to pour herself into her stories. “I will write until I have nothing left, or until my fingers give up on me.” She said, knowing that for her, a good story is at the core of so many of life’s memorable moments.

Great Read! Can't wait for book 2!

This book has an amazing way of drawing you in. You feel like you are right there with the characters as they unwrap the intriguing mystery that surrounds Collett. It forges new friendships, kindles a romance within your heart, and holds you in suspense and terror with a shocking conclusion. I can't wait to see what comes next from C. B. Haight

Loved The Story Line

You can't help but fall in love with each of the characters and get swept away by the story. Its one of those that you hate to see it end and are eager for the release of the next book.

Forgotten Enemy by C.B. Haight is the first book in a series called The Powers of Influence. Cade is a werewolf and part of an organization entirely focused on protecting people from paranormal threats. When Roderick, one of his close friends and ally, asks that Cade look into one of Roderick’s employees, Cade is enthralled by his charge for protection. Collett is a seemingly skittish woman who doesn’t remember any of her past and is on the run for her life. �Creatures of evil regularly track her down and attempt to kill her and Collett doesn’t even know why. Cade, Roderick and his family work together to both keep Collett safe, but also figure out who she is. Collett is also slowly discovering powers that have been lying hidden and, on top of everything else, she must figure out how to manage these powers and determine what they might mean. �Together, they all must figure out who is hunting Collett and why. As the clues begin to fall into place, Cade and Collett also work to cope with their quickly changing relationship.

I really enjoyed this story. It was a little slow in terms of the action, but this allows the reader to savor the characters and the growing relationships. The romance grew organically and I really liked that. There were a lot of characters, but they all added something to the story in terms of actions or just information about the relationship between all the characters. I also liked that in addition to Cade and Collett’s point of views, the reader gets the point of view of the predator. It helps build up to the revelation near the end of the story, which I really liked. However, I really disliked how the story ends. Because the plot moves a little slowly and there are going to be more books in the series, the main mystery of the story was never resolved. Some information was revealed to at least keep the story going, but I really wish there was more. It almost felt as if the characters were really in the same place that they were at the beginning of the story. �This is frustrating because the slow pace and development of relationships can really cause the reader to become attached to the characters and how their lives progress.

The narration by Mikeal Narramore was pretty good. I did sometimes have a difficult time keeping track of who was speaking because some of the characters sounded similar, but over all he did a good job. The production quality was good as well. I would recommend this novel to anyone who likes a good long lasting mystery and paranormal romances.

This is a great textbook. However you must be careful when buying it because it does not have the access code for McGraw-Hill's Connect. If you were to buy the access code separately from McGraw-Hill it will cost you around $70.

Watch out for the wrong edition

If you're a student taking an accounting class that requires the 4th edition, beware of ISBN 978-0071101196. It's an international edition of this book and dastardly enough contains slight variations to the examples and exercises to the point that you'll be completely confused.

Now I'm stuck paying full price at the student bookstore because I can't wait for another shipment :(

I bought this NMAP Cookbook along with NMAP Network Scanning, the NMAP Official Book by the developer himself.

This is literally my first book review - never felt strong enough about any other book to warrant such comments before.

For those who want to learn sanitized, no-fluff, specifics on using NMAP - this nearly 200 page "NMAP Cookbook" is a must have, highly recommended resource for any IT/IS Systems Engineer, Administrator or especially Security Professional entering the field.

Having read the book in 2 days, you too should be using NMAP like a Pro within weeks.

Straight forward and right on target with generally Single Page contents highlighting NMAPs command sets, switches, features, options and then providing just the right amount of information without overkill.

Those who prefer lean, direct, point driven directions will probably appreciate this book, just like I do.

On each page, the Author supplies simple content such as;

- Command/Feature/Option,
- Summary of its purpose (generally a single sentence),
- Sample usage/syntax (exact commands, how a user should use it),
- Real world sample of both, the command itself and its anticipated results,
- More detailed of a description,
- At the bottom, to top it off, you'll likely encounter some "Tips" or "Notes" offering just the right amount of complementary insight.

Personally, this is the best instructional book on a Security Tool I have ever seen - and this from an evaluator with 20yrs of IT/IS experience too.

I am a computer professional who uses nmap to scan my network for anomalies. Overall the book added to my knowledge of how to use nmap. I particularly found the following chapters useful:

Chapter 4: Advanced Scanning Options
Chapter 5: Port Scanning Options
Section 9: Output Options
Section 13: ndiff
Section 14: Tips and Tricks

The nmap cheat sheet is also very valuable and is available for download.

There was also excellent chapters on avoiding firewall and other topics that would be more interesting to those doing pentesting.

Basic but limited

The emphasis is on fat-free. There is not a lot of specifics or much detail. The entire book can be read in a matter of hours. It is clearly intended for those with very limited background in the subject matter. Anyone seeking to move beyond the simple basics will be highly disappointed. Just because the book is not a great resource for the professional does not mean that it lacks value, but the buyer should be aware that the book will not provide deep answers or lead the reader to professional knowledge on network scanning or even on the use of NMAP as a scanner, but they will be introduced to the fundamental uses of the program and to network scanning in general.

Suspenseful

If you like scary/mysterious books then you'll like this book.
This book is mysterious because Billy goes to camp for a week and weird things start to happen. First his friend disappears, then the counselors start acting weird. It made me want to read more. He tries to tell people, but no one is listening to him. Billy tries to call his parents and have them to pick him up, but a counselor caught him and told him he had to wait. He wrote to his parents and told them what was happening, and that he wanted to leave early, but they didn't respond to his concerns.
This is based on the scary stuff that happens at camp. Billy gets a roommate, Roger. They hear growling in the middle of the night. So Roger wanted to go check it out. So several kids went after him to try and stop him, because if they got caught they would get in trouble. But Roger disappeared. All they saw was red hair. The counselor said that they never had a Roger on record at camp, so Billy tries to tell the counselor Roger was there and was his roommate. People in the story aren't really who you think they are. It's a good book that keeps you wanting to read more.
The moral of the story is if your investigating something don't give up and trying to get your answer.
The main charters of the book are Billy, Jay, and Colin.
I would recommend reading the book, because it's a great mystery book that keeps you in suspense and makes you want to keep reading more.
