Informative book on centrifugal fans

I planned to make a fan for a dust collection system and this book had lots of information on that topic. Gingery also has interesting sections

on balancing fans, sheetmetal work,and airflow calculations. I can recomend this book to anyone interested in centrifugal fans and dust collection.

Great resource for building fan for dust collector.

Good book for info on sizing and building your own centrifugal fan. I am using it to build my own for a shop dust collection system. From an engineer's perspective, the book is full of formulas and explanation on how everything works. From a non-technical standpoint, the explanation is still easy to follow and adapt formulas to your own project. The book also covers construction basics, balancing, and testing. The book points out that there are many more advanced formulas in fan design, but it provides just the basics to be able to follow along and use for your own DIY project.

Mostly worthless without video

I bought this text to study for an ASL exam, but did not purchase the video. Please let this serve as a warning that if you do not purchase the video, this book is almost worthless. It is intended to go along with the video. A lot of the sellers are only selling the text, so beware.

Since I already knew some sign, this text served as a refresher for my exam, but I wasn't able to get the full use out of it.

I loved this book!

Penny Parker finds herself in the middle of the mystery of a ghost that is seen walking the grounds of an estate that is locked up for the winter! A mysterious light is seen around midnight every night just before the ghost walks. That's all I'll say since I don't want to give the plot away. It is an excellent book & readers of any age who like good wholesome mysteries will like these books. They were written by Mildred Wirt the original author of the early Nancy Drew books who wrote under the pen name of Carolyn Keene. Ms. Wirt has written the Penny Parker mystery series under her own name. They are all excellent & they are also free for Kindle. Pls. try them I don't think you will be disappointed. Any child who likes the Nancy Drew books will also like these books. I think any adult will like them too. I know I do!

Welcome back, Creasy. In the sequel to Quinnell's tour de force _Man On Fire_, no time is wasted in setting the stage for ex-mercenary Creasy's latest project. His wife and baby happen to be on a flight to the States: Pan Am 103.
Creasy creates a project plan and executes it in sequential, ever-escalating fashion: exacting brutal, fitting revenge on the terrorists and organizations who killed his new family.
Quinnell represents the pinnacle of true-to-life espionage and 'wet work'. As this is a pen name, the true identity of AJQ is a mystery to most. Suffice it to say, he knows his business.
As I wrote in the review for _Man On Fire_, there is no better author in this genre than Quinnell. It is tragic that his books are (mostly) out of print in the U.S. It has taken many months to buy his out-of-print and new (via international) books and I've finally assembled the full collection of Creasy and non-Creasy stories.
All of them are five stars, period.

Another sentimental and tour-de-force read!

Amongst the passengers on Pan Am 103, which was blown up in the sky over hte small Scottish town of Lockerbie in 1988, were the wife and 4-year-old daughter of a man called Creasy: a VETERAN & a MERCENARY. Creasy vows to seek his own vegeance, and to this end he needs the back-up of power and of youth. He therefore enlists a US Senator--whose wife also died on that flight--and ruthlessly trains an 18-year-old orphan into becoming a man in his own image....
As usual, Quinnell used news bylines to develop and evolve it into a wonderful story. THE PERFECT KILL is a modern day version of Charles Brownson's movie, THE MECHANICS, but in more deep carvings. Very profound yet with wordless feelings that we could find in his MAN ON FIRE and SNAPSHOT of the genre. The script is clear-cut and concise, fast paced with no hesitated linger-around or rigidarity. A PERFECT READ, as usual, Mr. Quinnell, whoever you are.

A wonderful long overdue sequel to MAN ON FIRE

Rarely a writer could be so integrate like Quinnell who could put romance, love, loyalty, adventure, professionalism, friendship and heroism into one book and made the sequel on a par with its prequel, but Quinnell always did and always could deliver. I wish many readers could find this unfarely overlooked great writer with simple style but profound sentimentals. Creasy in MAN ON FIRE not only lost his beloved wife and daughter this time, but also created a second-coming youngman of his own, Michael Said, the orphan from Malta, might be worth developing into a great character of his legacy in the future novel?

Very well written book for difficult concepts.

Later edit: I rented this book for my previous class, but kept it over the time because it was so pertinent to the research of my following class.

Amazon did it's part to email me about the upcoming deadlines to return the book-- but I missed them. However, I am not sorry to keep this book because the information has been such a help to my professional education.

The Haunted Cavern (1795) was the first novel by John Palmer, Jun. (1776-1809), who published it at age nineteen. A "tale of shrieking spectres and bloody murders" (The Critical Review) featuring "gloomy caverns, dismal dungeons, ghastly skeletons, pale ghosts, fierce combats, [and] horrid murders" (The Analytical Review), Palmer's novel is an entertaining example of the type of Gothic fiction that flourished in the wake of Ann Radcliffe's The Mysteries of Udolpho (1794). This new edition, the first in almost two centuries, includes a new introduction by Joel T. Terranova, six contemporary reviews of the novel, a facsimile of the original title page, and a reproduction of the frontispiece from the scarce New York edition of 1796.

a classic Gothic novel

This early Gothic novel hadn't been published in quite a while. It's good to see this nice new edition come out. The introduction, notes, etc. are very useful and the novel itself is a pretty fun read.

Fast, Fun Read

I agree with SEG. This is a fast, fun, exciting read. It will be much enjoyed by fans of The Monk or similar Gothic classics. The villains in this short, suspenseful work are genuine sadists of the Gothic old school.
